FLYING
GIVING
MENTORING
CELEBRATING
Whether you starting are a creative business or are in one currently it is a great thing when a fellow artist can lend a hand, show you the ropes, steer you in the right direction etc...
This past year I signed up to participate in Flying Lessons, an online course to help your creative business soar, with Kelly Rae Roberts. The course offered great guidance, gave you direction, offered an outline for creative paths and steps to take in order to help you nurture your business and grow.
Through this course I celebrated friendship and community with a group of creative women that continues to this day. I love how you are kept in creative conversations which are so important especially when you work alone most of the time making your art.
To celebrate our Anniversary The Fly Tribe, a fantastic group of creative women raised money to offer Eight scholarships for this same course celebrating the art of giving and mentoring. What is even more exciting is that Kelly Rae is matching the amount raised so Sixteen scholarships will be made available!
This will be the last year this course will be offered so now is the time to jump in, or should I say take flight!. Click here for the Flying Lessons Give-Away Guidelines and Entry information.
What is obvious to me and what I have learned as an artist, it is important to give back, share knowledge and inspire.
Stop and visit some fantastic creative women who have shared what giving back means to them. Leave a comment.

DeleteHi Deborah! i was a fellow classmate on the ABSPD e-course earlier this year...i just wondered if you have any comments on how the two courses compare? i am interested in Kelly Raes one but wasn't sure how much it overlapped with Rachael and Beths (on a bit of a budget unfortunately!)/ it sounds like being part of another community makes the course worth it even without the content!! :)
ReplyDeleteI will email you! If you are interested throw your hat into the Give-Away.

ReplyDeleteIt's so true that creating art can be solitary and many people need connections and support and I feel so blessed to have found that in you and our whole group.

ReplyDeleteHello sweet Deborah! I have just loved reading all the thoughtful comments from everyone (keep forgetting I'm not on FB = I want to LIKE all the comments) It's been such a terrific year; I'm so impressed with how far we have all come + I just love where YOU are going sister. Happy Anniversary and much love!
ReplyDeleteDeborah - it has been so much fun this past year, hasn't it? It is hard to believe that a year ago you and I were sending messages back and forth as we were just getting to know each other. I am so thankful for the FB group that gives us the opportunity to be in touch 24/7. I wish we could all be together in person, but with our busy lives, even if we lived close to each other, we would probably still depend on FB to stay in touch! I am so excited to see what is in store for all of us in the coming year. I just LOVE your words and designs. You are such a gifted lady. xo, Kathleen P.S. I do hope we will get to meet in person one of these days - FB is great, but will be even better once we have met face-to-face.
ReplyDeleteAhh, my friend, you make me smile every time we talk. It has been one of best parts of my past year to get to know you and your beautiful family. Thank you! I love the birds, by the way!!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to be flying with you, Deborah! Love your birdies! xoxo L
