Floating Petals by Velásquez©2012 |
Wanted to share what I have been up to lately. Here is some work I just completed. I have been working on the computer lately. I have been doing my usual sketching, drawing and mark making but I have been using my "other" art making tool, the computer to color and manipulate my designs! I have always been more of a tactile artist/designer, but what fun I have had! What I have learned this week is that one motif has many lives!
I am taking an e-course called The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design with Rachael Taylor and Beth Nicholls. We are currently in Module Two of the course, there are three Modules in all.
What a great course! It taps into your entire artisitc being. Surface pattern design work has so many intersections of art and inspiration in one piece that one can see the mix of beauty and ideas.

ReplyDeleteYou would love it! New Classes Start in April.
DeleteVery beautiful. . I love the top one especially. So eye catching and fun. I wish I could take that course. It's not in the budget right now, but maybe once we get to the doing stage in HSHB I'll have some extra money to work with. Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteIt would be great if you did, your work would be great. The things you could do!

ReplyDeleteLovely works, Deborah. And what you said about the lifes of the motifs is so true.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Those are fantastic color combinations! I've always been a fan of black and orange, but it takes some skill not to come out halloweeny. You nailed it!
ReplyDeleteThis is exciting to see, Deborah! I took Surface Pattern Design before doing it on computer was the norm...wonderful results! Does the class teach you the computer tools for this? Or is it focused on design? I'm interested in the April class...
ReplyDeleteVery lovely colors, energetic and they made my eyes happy!
ReplyDeleteYour work is so lovely, thanks for the advice over at HSHB....
