The Color Challenge continues with our post creations inspired by Lavender and Green.
These colors make beautiful companions in the garden. Just a striking combination.
So looking forward to Spring.

We are in our second month of the challenge.

At the first of the every month a color is given and you are challenged to create something using the color and others from the palette. You have until the 28th of the month to complete your project. Join the challenge, here, You can join in at any time. Make sure to visit the other artists who are participating in the challenge at Louis Gale's website.

Word Paths • Inspired by You

Word Paths, a Friday feature showcasing possibilities in written words, creative process and artistic pieces.
My goal is to present three to five words or three to five lines.
I may go to seven words or seven lines but probably not often, only if needed.
I plan to work the Word Paths out artistically and process them to share with you here.
You can go here, to my first post on this project and see how it all started.

I have broken all my rules with this one. I have gone way past my seven lines.
Sometimes I just have a lot to say. I was inspired by you on this one.
These words appeared on my blog in the copy of previous post.
Many have said you should print that, or that would make a great poster.
So here it is and these words I truly believe.
The copy falls under advice for the artist, you, me and us.
Here is my word path for today

New Work

Floating Petals                                                                                                                                 by Velásquez©2012

Wanted to share what I have been up to lately. Here is some work I just completed. I have been  working on the computer lately. I have been doing my usual sketching, drawing and mark making but I have been using my "other" art making tool, the computer to color and manipulate my designs! I have always been more of a tactile artist/designer, but what fun I have had! What I have learned this week is that one motif has many lives!

I am taking an e-course called The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design with Rachael Taylor and Beth Nicholls. We are currently in Module Two of the course, there are three Modules in all.
What a great course! It taps into your entire artisitc being. Surface pattern design work has so many intersections of art and inspiration in one piece that one can see the mix of beauty and ideas.

More love to share. As you have seen and heard from me on my blog, the word love is ever present in my work. The letters flow together so easily and are quite lovely on their own when written. Not sure what the obession is but I don't mind it! We should continue to be open to love, cherish the love we have and just believe in love because it is a powerful force. My color inspiration comes from a combination of Dora the Explorer, from my two year old meets Vasarely, one of my favorite artists. Enjoy.
Here is my word path for today

Art is...Love Out Loud

When I am making art, I know this is what I should be doing. Making art is like a relationship. It is like being in love. It brings me to another level, to another place. One of great joy.

When making art you are loving out loud. You are sharing your joy and soul.

Happy Love Day!
