Word Path • Forever in My Heart

Special people stay in your heart forever, it is there that we reserve a place for them and hold them dear for a very long time……..a long time, like in forever.

Here are My Word Paths for Today

In My Heart, My Always Friend                by  Velásquez ©2014

I was inspired to make this art today because I was feeling
quite sad as I found out a
great friend is moving away.
Decided to express in art what I feel.
Ending on a "happy" note.
Here is a song that expresses how things go when our families get together.

Word Paths • A Conversation with Jewel

At the beginning of this week I had a short but great visit with my friend Jewel. As always we had a great chat about art, words and what great vintage finds inspired us. No coffee though, need to fix that next time. I always photograph something that catches my eye at her house. I usually leave with something, this time I borrowed a book and happened to spot this lovely Vera scarf that she covered a foot stool with. Just my colors!

On my way out the door I saw one of her pieces of art, " I Have Pants and You Have Pants" I have always loved this piece and I finally I got the story behind it. After all these years of friendship I have never known what inspired it. Read on.....

Here is My Word Path for Today on Loan from Jewel
Pants                                                                                                                             by Jewel©1990

The story goes like this...it was a battle of the sexes, the division of chores by gender, a battle of wills, the expectations in a relationship while living together on who should take the trash out! We talked about how we fall into what our parents did when it came to chores around the house.
At the end of the day "Pants" was a celebration of equality, Jewel said. After "I Have Pants and You Have Pants" was blurted out in a "high pitched discussion" it was followed by laughter and it was learned that both could do chores equally well and then it became art!
Thanks for sharing my friend. Will be seeing you soon for more conversations to share!
