Ink, Gouache and Pencil Play

Abstract Circle Studies by Velásquez©2013

Circle Studies                                                                                              by Velásquez©2013

On the table today, well one of the things....I still have a blue floral in the works which I started last week and still working on. This circle painting was definitely a diversion, a fun diversion. Playing with my favorite mix of brushes and using ink, pencil and gouache.
Three Column Circle Studies    by Velásquez©2013

The circle is my icon. When I paint, it is circular and confident in motion. When the brush is on the paper there is no hesitation.
I am very much attracted to the letters e and o.

What defines your style, your artistic hand?
Is there an icon or a symbol that comes up in your work either consciously or subconsciously?

What shows up in your work all the time?
Possibly it is:
Birds
Water
Trees
Color
Animals
Symbols
Circles
People
Shapes
Clouds
Nature
Time
And so on…

When you doodle, draw or put inspiration in your sketchbook.

What is your icon?

Look back at your older works. Interesting isn't it?

Here is an example of an older work which I blogged about back in September 2011 in a post called Hard to Part With , which talked about letting go of of our art and how it it is very difficult at times.
Funny to see the similarities.
The consistency in style is there and creatively that is a good thing.
I sold this Acrylic piece six years ago!

Thank you for stopping by.
