Word Path • Not What You Think

Everyone has a word path. One word leads to another.

Word Paths have  been a Friday feature showcasing possibilities in written words, creative process and artistic pieces from the beginning of my blog You can go here, to my first post on this project and see how it all started.

Today's Word Path took a different turn than I had planned all because of a package that arrived in the mail today. Sometimes it is just what is suppose to happen.
This past Monday I checked out  Kathleen Conard's Etsy store called Upcycle and Remix and found these word cubes. Kathleen is a friend, artist and fellow blogger and her store is a lovely place to find vintage treasures and ephemera.
I thought how fun it would be to have them. As you know words and letters just light me up and inspire my art.

This is what I received in the mail today. I decided to play around with cubes and Word Paths just started to happen. What I had originally created to share today has been put away for another day.
The possibilities with these combinations fascinated me.

Here Are My Word Paths for Today

My Heart                                                                                               by Velásquez©2012

When working with these paths I kept going back and forth with held and hold, so I decided to share both. I didn't want the "held" to be past tense love or heartbreak or "used to be" love.
I wanted it to read more like the memories of that person.
Good memories are kept in your heart.
These past few weeks have been one of great loss for my friends with the passing of a parent.
Tuesday was number four when the phone rang and my friend said "hey you have a minute I have some bad news...." My heart breaks for them as such pain is numbing and so heavy on the heart.
These thoughts have been in my head this week so when word cubes came my way I am not surprised the Word Path turned out as it did. It all turned out as it was supposed to.
May my friends find peaceful days ahead and I thank my Angel Kathleen as
I have been able to honor my friends in words.
