Found Words

My friend and fellow blogger Lori Moon has a series called Shared Messages from the Universe.
Lori is talented photographer and jewelry artisan.
She photographs found phrases and words she comes across in her travels in the The City.
She shares written signs that have a message that you probably walk past every day.
On her walks, she finds messages on billboards, ads in the subway, store fronts, etc.
My favorite one is here, because what she wrote rings true.

I am very inspired by words as you know.
I live in the country and I laugh about this series in a good way
because if I ever attempted to do the same my slate would read:

Children at play
Men at work
One lane road ahead
School bus stop ahead
For Sale
frost heaves
CVS coming soon

So what is the message from my universe? I just laugh!
So funnily enough, I found words on a recent trip with my two kids and my two nieces to a children's museum. I came across these words put together by the younger set at an interactive station full of magnet words, blackboards, chalk, crayons and paper.

I love how in the one below we have to "imagine" the letter "g" and "i" in the word imagine.

Great advice. Just do it!

Just love this one.

This one goes without saying.
A shout out to the Flying Lessons Group.

Giggles here! I feel like this on my days I don't make art.

Lori did mention that we could find messages in magazines and here is one for me to share.
Another artist friend has this large jar full of magazine clippings of words she uses in her work.
On a recent visit this clipping is what I pulled out of the jar and it left me with a good laugh. Enjoy! Thank you for stopping by.

  1. You are the sweetest thing! I am touched and so happy that I could inspire you to look for the messages. Thank you for sharing and for linking to me. xoxo Lori

  2. By the way, my favorite is "I thought you were pretend"

  3. Deb, love this! I am a "sayings" freak, but when I am out and about I tend to notice things in nature and architecture more than I do words...thanks for the reminder to pay attention to the words, as well.

  4. Thanks for the laugh..My favorite is also "i thought you were pretend" but had a chuckle at the "please dont come into this area '...I could post that a number of places today.(its a work day...which probably explains why I am blog hopping) Julie

  5. I thought you were pretend is my favorite as well. Although, I would probably have CVS Coming soon on mine too!

  6. OMGosh Deborah, these are to fun. I simply love the one about "there's no fun here." I'm copying it for my files. Might need it for my "work" desk.

  7. Hi deborah
Finally I get to you. I can't easily access your blog, I always seem to get an error message. Now I have forgotten what I was going to say. Anyway thank you for the comments on my blog. I will be back. Have a good rest-of-week!

  8. Hellooo (o: I love this post and also enjoy Lori's posts too, words seem to becoming a bigger focus for me of late and it's probably most likely due to you two and Kelly Rae. I've always been aware but perhaps not taken the time to really take in those special messages that are all around us. My laptop alone has 3 scribbled messages that I have seen this week, and my desk is covered in further messages, another is stuck up on my monitor. I now love to seek out words and messages and take in their meanings it's definitely made for more positive days and experiences. So thankyou xxx

  9. I am also in love with words and with the power of them. I love like they say: The one thing we can give and still keep is our word.
    regards Val

  10. Thanks, I am so glad you have all enjoyed today's post. I appreciate you stopping by!
